1951

13 th October went into Sunshine Home

1952

13 th October left Sunshine Home with Dad and Aunty Cath McCarthy October Flew to Nyngan with Cath McCarthy and drove to Beemery and stayed for one month. Coralie and John Gilmore and Rosemary. Back to Sydney from Bourke on the train. Stayed with Dick Stapleton. I lapped up the cat’s milk. Cath McCarthy and Dick took me down to Tamarama beach.

1956

Moved from Sydney to 57 MacDonald Rd Margate

1957

Moved to Sorrento St Woody Point with Cath McCarthy. Flew to Roma with Mum and Dad and met Dick and Marge Condon. I flew straight and level, and Dad landed the plane.

1958

Jock and Malu employed at Jimbour

1964

Nov/Dec Cath McCarthy had a stroke Dec Returned to Jimbour

1965

Jackaroo with Jock

1967

Worked on tractors with Manager Roy Sherman Started training with Neville Bienke, then Herb Rainer at Les Keys Aviation in Dalby November. Went to be a jackaroo at Beemery with Dudley Robinson and Beverley

1968

Jackarooed at Stonehenge with Scott and Maria Parkinson Dad handed me over to Frank Woodfall. Jock and Malu left Jimbour Don Graham at Newtown looking after the feedlot

1970

Got full pilot’s licence.

1974

Mum Dad and I flew to Witchita Kansas to pick up the Beechcraft Baron. Johnnie Smith and the bike.

1975

June 1 Started at the Darling Downs Soaring Club, McCafferies Field

1976

Lindsay Richards and I flew in K7RI double seater glider. I was the pilot. I got my gliding licence. Jill Robinson started work in the RPC Brisbane Office.

1977

Met Barry Hempell at the Goondawindi Air Show. 21 st October Dad died

1978

Frank Woodfall stopped training. I started with Barry Hempell Dick Condon managed RPC.

1979

Gliding. Did Silver C in ASW15 Gulf Yankee Uniform. I had to do over 5 hours in the one go.

1980

Cath McCarthy at Knossa Hospital

1992

Got instrument rating Sept went to Poland to collect the Antinov

1997

Joined Dalby Anglican Men’s Group August. Went to OshKosh Air Show with Barry H

1998

Barry and Melanie married

2002

Barry injured his head in a hanger door at Archerfield

Went to Philippines with Barry and Melanie
